how i spent my last two weekends...
last weekend i went to my cousin's house in gr. she had a party saturday night to celebrate st. patrick's day. on sunday we tried going to two different thai restaurants for lunch, but both places were closed. we ended up going to grand rapids brewing company, which was AWESOME. she had never been there before, but she will definitely be going again :)
i didn't get home til after five, so i was pretty bummed that i couldn't make it to the FREE kris allen concert in mt. clemens. granted, it would have been a fucking drive to get there, and i'm pretty sure it would have been packed with young youngsters. the main act was boys like girls, so i'm sure getting in would have been difficult or impossible anyway. but still, would have been cool to see him live :(
yesterday i went to a concert with j (r's wife). she had gotten tickets to go see tegan and sara in royal oak. but r was having friends over to watch the ufc fights. so she asked me to go with her :) now, i'm not a big fan of tegan and sara, but the concert was pretty awesome! they had two opening acts and they were cool too. holly miranda and steel train, i think?
beforehand, we went and ate thai food. it was SO yummy. afterwards, we went back to their place and watched the rest of the fights. i didn't get home til almost 2 or so, but it was a really fun night!
today was my mom's family's easter get together. it was the first time we've done one of these things. usually we do a christmas get together, but at the last camp out, someone decided to switch to easter, since our last couple christmas things have been canceled due to weather. i REALLY didn't want to go.
we still did the white elephant gift exchange game, but my aunt (the oldest) announced stupid ass rules that made the whole thing lame and pointless in my mind. it was just people opening dumb gifts. it really annoyed me A LOT. and i don't know how this was less "mish mash" than the camp-out (her words from last september when she started planning the easter thing) because it pretty much seemed the same. pot luck buffet. how is that better/different? she's just a bitch. the camp-outs are WAY better, so suck it.
