family time

went down to visit the family yesterday for my nephew's birthday. it was actually at my sister's in-laws house, so i got to see one of my very good friends (her brother-in-law, small town dynamics and all). was nice. food was delicious.

my parents bought my sister a camera identical to the one they bought me for christmas. for what occasion, i do not know. i'm guessing it was crazy on sale. but they waited too long, and the blue ones aren't available anymore. so she got a silver one. this excited me, because i asked her if we could switch, since i never wanted a pink one to begin with. i do believe she will agree :)

my mom also said that this means i get a birthday present. i told them they didn't need to do that, and that they paid for my trip to san diego, so they didn't need to get me anything. i don't know if she will press the issue or not. if so, i will have to come up with something. i feel guilty, because it isn't as if they have a lot of money or anything. but i know it makes them feel good to help me and my sister out, since neither of us have any money either. rather sad and pathetic the group of us.
