The Pandorica Opens

this episode was awesome and brilliant and amazing! i can't wait til next week to see the resolution.

and... rory! i was so excited to see him and that bit with him and the doctor was so fabulous and funny and i adore their relationship. and then... fuck! it isn't rory :(

my guess had been that it would be the doctor in the box. but omg how awful was that! poor doctor.

still, love love loved this ep :)

Vincent and the Doctor

i didn't particularly enjoy this episode, but vincent made me cry so hard. his story really moved me, but the doctor and amy and the alien was kinda lame.

EDIT: i did like the references to rory, and amy not knowing she's sad or crying. and i do love the doctor, he had some wonderful sweet and funny moments.

Amy's Choice

this was a very un-Doctor Who type episode for me. of course, i'm only familiar with new who, so i could be wrong. this type of story is a common fixture in a lot of sci-fi shows and i tend not to enjoy them because they freak me out. dream lord guy is creepy as fuck.

i really like rory and i felt sorry for him. and, okay. seriously. why the fuck did they do that whole ponytail thing? why make him look so stupid? i found that annoying. i'm glad that, in the end, amy chose rory over the doctor (sort of) but did she really?

i dunno. this episode leaves me ambivalent.

the doctor saying that the dream lord was really him was pretty hardcore. dark doctor indeed.

also, i loved that it was snowing in the leadworth scenes. i just thought it was very pretty.

Flesh and Stone

i absolutely LOVED this episode! the doctor was so amazingly awesomely brilliant!

there were some "scientific" wtf's, but when aren't there? it was so awesome i didn't care :)

BUT. the end. with amy. in the bedroom. bleurgh!!! that had me cringing in a BAD way.


also... "i made him say comfy chairs" LOVES the doctor!

Victory of the Daleks

okay. so i thought this episode was seriously lame and boring. i was laughing and rolling my eyes, and not in the least bit moved by or engaged in what was supposedly srs bzns.

because dude. rainbow daleks? i can't take this shit seriously!

i'd pretty much had my fill of daleks by the third season, so dealing with them over and over is boring and annoying, and just makes me go NOT AGAIN!?!?

and the music is just TOO MUCH. it's like they WANT it to feel all epic, but it just isn't.

also, i've had enough of world war II. we've seen so much of it with both doctor who and torchwood at this point. i want NEW stuff, not the same re-hashing of things we've already seen.

the thing that DOES interest me is the amy not remembering thing. is this a parallel universe? is it just a WRONG world? is it wrong because the doctor ended up going back and seeing and/or getting amelia back in the first ep? cuz it did look like that's what happened at the end of that ep. that bit where amelia is sitting there and looks up and smiles like she hears the tardis. did he come back and mess up history/the future? or does it just have to do with the crack in the world thing?

oh, and was anybody supposed to actually believe he had a self-destruct button? i knew it was a cookie the second it was shown.

The Eleventh Hour

omg how much did i love this! there were so many wonderful lovely things that i can't even begin.

and oh. little amelia pond just broke my heart. she was BRILLIANT. (and made me cry)

and the raggedy doctor... the whole village knew!

The End of Time (part 2)

i cried a lot a lot a lot. so the headache is still on full force.

i pretty much didn't care about any of the master or timelord stuff. i don't think rtd did tho either so it doesn't really matter, right? it was pretty much blah blah blah to me. build up and handwave, thanks.

everything with wilf and the doctor i just loved and adored. and it made my cry (a lot). so happy that i was wrong and wilf didn't die. surprised, but happy.

and donna's end wasn't horrible either. i'm not sure how GOOD it was, but not horrible. i could go into the whole "has to be married to be happy" thing but i just don't give a fuck right now, and it hits way too close to home at the moment. plus, they are apparently going to be RICH. money makes everything better, right? so yeah, i won't go into that either.

i was so EXCITED to see mickey and martha! but wtf they are married? fucking lame. that bothered me quite a lot and i will completely ignore that. WTF?

the doctor gets jack laid. wow, how lovely. thanks for that. really. exactly the kind of sweet and emotional scene i wanted to see. oh, wait...

the rose bit seemed strange, since you'd think she would now recognize ten when nine regenerates, but whatever. all the "goodbye" scenes were fairly disappointing in content, but i can appreciate the context, and they did make me cry regardless of my thinky thoughts.

extremely sad to see ten go, but am looking forward to seeing eleven. hopefully it will be exciting and fun and HAPPY. let's give the angst a rest now shall we?

can't wait :)


EDIT: i don't know what the fuck to call these series/specials. season 4, 5, 6? wtf somebody tell us how to categorize them because i am ANAL and i am sure my tags are FUCKED.

after a bit more thought...

i watched both the bbc interview (on youtube) and the doctor who confidential, and as of yet i am still uncertain. but i am optimistic!

he IS a bit strange looking. somewhat lion-ish. but he could grow on me. plus, the doctor IS an alien. and i certainly don't want a pretty boy doctor. nice voice, awful hair.

he seems to understand the "importance" of doctor who and the responsibility he now carries portraying such a character.

he appears to be funny and smart and excited... which makes ME excited!

he is VERY young. this makes me wary. the doctor is over 900 years old. he has such knowledge and wisdom and power and authority. can such a young actor carry this off? and will the other characters on the show accept him as the doctor with such a young visage?

moffat seems REALLY pleased, as does rtd, so you'd think he HAS to be good, right? and they weren't planning on such a young choice. he was figuring someone in their forties. but they went with who they thought was the BEST. and i trust moffat (for now).

i LOVE the hand/finger thing he kept doing! his mannerisms seemed quite doctor-ish :)

i hope his "outfit" is not what he's wearing in that press(?) photo (the one with the tardis). too much like nine.

overall, i think i quite like him so far :)

i am quite nervous about who they will choose for, and how they will handle, the next companion/s. please let there not be any love/attraction thing going on! a male maybe, or someone older. that could make for an interesting dynamic. just please, no one who is in love with the doctor.


regardless of everything... i will cry buckets when ten goes :(


EDIT: can people please stop with the already abundant jack/eleven, ianto/eleven, jack/ianto/eleven, with the jealous!ianto and/or jealous!jack? please? just... stop. some days i despair for my fandoms.
