people are strange
May. 22nd, 2009 12:30 ami went over to r & j's new place for dinner tonight. they are renting a house for three years while she does her residency (right? god i always forget. with two friends who are doctor's i should know this shit by now). it is very nice and they have done a shitload of work in just three weeks. proof that i am NOT meant to be a homeowner ever again.
it's difficult not to be envious of my friends when they all are doing so great in their lives. it does make me really happy and proud to see them do well, but still difficult. they will be going to canada tomorrow on vacation for the next week and i'll be feeding their cats again. tybalt was letting me pet him quite a bit tonight, and even came to sit by me for awhile.
unfortunately, sometimes things get awkward when i hang out with them. r sometimes tends to get rude/snarky/mean with j, and tonight she said that he only does that when i'm around. that makes me feel really weird and uncomfortable and i wasn't sure how to respond. i just said "yeah, what's up with that r?" and then he got all quiet and moody for a bit. it's strange and i don't know how to deal with that and/or fix it. if it's true, i have no idea what the reasoning is behind it.
ugh. they are some of my closest friends at the moment, and i love them both dearly, but i don't want this weirdness. i also don't want them to decide not to hang out with me anymore.
