Torchwood Radio Play - The Dead Line
Jul. 3rd, 2009 02:27 pmomg. do i even need to say how much i loved this? it was so awesome. and we got some rhys!
of course, my love for this is completely biased. i'm not afraid to admit to that. gareth david-lloyd was absolutely brilliant. his speech to jack had me bawling. i can't even begin to imagine how much i will cry when he dies, because he will die.
but besides all the wonderful ianto we got, i felt that the quality of production on this one was far superior to the others. and i thought the individual performances by each of the actors were excellent. this really focused on the team and i loved that. i enjoy seeing gwen and rhys work together. and the original characters were likable as well, not annoying or over the top.
we got no explanation for anything, which is always a bit annoying, but it only botherd me after the fact. i could have cared less while listening. because this episode wasn't about that, at least not in my mind. i'm okay with this just being one of those things that happens in torchwood without knowing why. to me, this was about the characters themselves and their relationships, and being the pathetic girl i am, i loved it.
