what a day
Nov. 7th, 2009 10:55 pmi just got home from spending all day at the hospital.
so right after i get out of the shower this morning, before i even have a stitch of clothing on, my sister calls to tell me that they had to call the rapid response team today for my dad. that's like calling 911 when you are in the hospital.
after doing a chest x-ray and then a ct scan, they found he had a pulmonary embolism (a blood clot in the lung). he also has a second blood clot behind his knee, which they are afraid he might 'throw' (throw a blood clot is apparently the term they use). so they are putting him on a blood thinner to try and break them down, so they don't travel to his heart or anything. cuz that would be BAD. and they moved him to a different floor where they can have a monitor on him and keep a better eye on him.
and the orthopedic doctor was super cute.
