episode one: a study in pink
i came into this having NO CLUE that it was set in modern times. threw me for a bit of a loop at first. it took me a bit to get into it, but surprisingly enough i really enjoyed it. there was a bit of frustration when they all got a fit of the stupid and i figured it out before they did, but it was still a lot of fun. left me excited for more.
episode two: the blind banker
there were a couple of cool bits in this episode, but for the most part it bored me SO MUCH. overall it was just really lame and i kept checking the time to see when it would just END already. also, where is lestrade? why do i have to sit here and be annoyed with eugene (from torchwood) who i used to love? now i'm just annoyed.
episode three: the great game
i JUST finished this and holy shit bears! i'm still in a bit of shock and not sure if i think the ending was fucking awesome or a bunch of fucking bullshit. there was a LOT of stuff in this ep, like a bunch on mini-eps in one big one, so it moved a lot faster that ep two (thank god). LOTS of tension.
i really like holmes, but he's a bit of a bastard. i'm glad i like the actor so much, otherwise i don't know if i'd care for him the way this version of the character is written. although to be fair, i am not exactly familiar with sherlock holmes. i only ever read hound of the baskervilles for an english class in high school.
i'm actually not much of a fan of watson. he seems a bit dim and dull. and i'm not sure why holmes keeps him around. he doesn't do much or help in any way. and i'm not sure why watson sticks around. their 'relationship' seems pretty dodgy and just doesn't sit well with me. they don't exactly like each other in any way, do they? the first ep started out (well, ended really) well, but it went way down hill from there.
i love lestrade. he's not annoying or anything and i really like the relationship he and holmes have. i also like mycroft. he IS annoying, but i still like him. moriarty was a bit of crazy, yes? and wtf was up with his voice/accent? just showcasing the crazy?
anyhow, i enjoyed this little burst of something new and fun to watch. and apparently there WILL be another series *gasps in shock* (no, not really). so that is something to look forward to. yay :)
