so i was really excited about this episode. heard it was ianto-heavy (no. no pun intended at all. none whatsoever. i am not that shallow *shifty eyes*) and that is always a good thing. right?

wrong. yes, the lots of ianto was lovely. but the episode was not. i gotta admit, i did not like it. again, i found myself laughing throughout, when i am almost certain that was not the intent. the plot (or lack thereof) was fairly bad. they tried to make it all dramatic and gripping, and it just really wasn't. i found nothing scary about the night travelers at all. there was a lot of standing about, and exposition, and being TOLD stuff... and it was all just rather lame and cheesey and not believable (and highly laughable). was i supposed to be scared and intrigued and saddened? well, i wasn't. well, i was saddened that ianto's episode was such a craptastic one :( and in the end, we never even got any answers to anything.

this boy can act. he REALLY can. but since the episode itself was so cheesey, i found his acting too much. catching the flask and hearing only one breath left? it was so absurd, that ianto's wibbling just made me laugh that much more. crying in the hospital when the little boy survived? while beautiful (yes gdl, you are beautiful when you cry) it seemed pathetic. especially after that actor kid did such a god awful job of coughing back to life. again, i was laughing, and ianto's crying just made it that much funnier and ridiculous. and that makes me MAD. cuz he is so much better than this drivvle he's been given. and let's not start on how bad i think john barrowman was, cuz i do enjoy the man. but yeesh... so not good.


points of interest:

ianto being caught in the rain unprepared? i think not.

ianto used to come to the cinema with his dad (the master tailor) so it looks like he is probably dead now? otherwise, bring him along on the road to nostalgia? hmm...

ianto shushing gwen and owen. he so would, and so he should!

ianto saying 'i told you so'. just cute :)

ianto is familiar with the psych hospital. personally familiar it seems. interesting...

ianto was 'touched' by the night travelers as they 'passed [him] by'. eh? very interesting...

ianto's hands. ianto running. ianto scream. ianto crying. all beautiful things :)

ianto beer belly??? that shot at the end had me cracking up. altho we did get the fantastic ass shot (thank you camera man) beforehand. still... watch those pints gareth, and maybe increase the physical activity *brain goes to a naughty place* ahem, anyway. yer still teh pretty :)


note: i've watched it several times now, and i'm still laughing.
