ok. so they didn't do what i thought they would, because there were still a couple people who made it to the top 24 who i don't recall seeing before. there was a paige and a michelle i think, and a few others i don't remember at all. oh well.

people i like:
janell wheeler - even tho that last song was AWFUL
tyler grady - he's just cool
crystal bowersox - i liked her last performance, but she actually kind of annoys me
katie stevens - good voice
siobhan magnus - they showed her more last night than tonight, and i can't remember what i actually liked about her
haeley vaughn - very different and interesting, but it seems like she knows who she is and will hopefully remain distinct
andrew garcia - shut up about all the fucking babies already
john park - they haven't shown him at ALL since his initial audition, but i think i liked him

and alex lambert deserves a mention, cuz the name is just funny after last season :)

i can't believe how awful kara treated angela martin. that poor girl! and kara comes and makes her sit on the ARM OF THE CHAIR. ugh, how patronizing she was. but damn, ryan actually made me tear up! he seemed so sweet and honest and genuine with her. he may not be a robot after all.

and what the fuck happened to my cute dude with the knit cap? i kept seeing him in the waiting room, but they never showed him getting the boot. what was his name? what happened to him? why do you annoy me so, idol?

awesome that they used 'no surprises' by radiohead and 'hallelujah' by jeff buckley. love those songs.


EDIT: a complete tangent, but idol related. i think kelly clarkson and kris allen should totally tour together. somebody make it happen.

hollywood week. yay!

ellen actually did a really good job and i liked her a lot :) but this is with editing , so we'll have to wait for the live shows to see how she really works out.

kara is still as stupid as ever. when she compared that one dude to adam lambert i seriously laughed.

lots of people that i like got thru, and a lot of people i like weren't even really shown, which is always a bummer. but still, cool.

i was so sad that the country girl didn't make it tho :( she was way too nervous to do well in that kind of situation. poor thing. i don't know if her song choice was really bad or really awesome... i still haven't decided.

neil patrick harris was a hardcore awesome judge. let's have more of him.

i never did talk about last wednesday's episode. it was a bit of a let down after tuesday's night of awesome-ness.

people i liked... a girl named miriam (i think?) who they didn't show much of. she had long dark hair and a gray dress. and then the blonde country girl they did a shit-load of background on. she was sweet. i loved how they played kris allen 'before we come undone' in the background. very cool :)

tonight's episode was awful with barely any good people. i did kinda like the curly-haired katelyn at the beginning. but my FAVE was a dude right at the very very end. they only showed a tiny bit, but i think his name was keith simple (?) and he had a guitar and a gorgeous raspy voice. the second he started singing i was like OH, YES! loved his voice.


EDIT: dude's name is keith semple. and he got the boot. he is apparently irish and only here on a work visa and didn't get his shit together in time. i is sad :(

i'm quite embarrassed to admit how excited i was about tonight's episode. i actually got a little emotional right when it started. how lame am i! but dude, it made me SO happy :)

loved that they kept playing boston by augustana. i love Love LOVE that song (from way back when the album came out, too. not 2 years later when the radio started playing it).

i ALSO loved the kris allen commercial! how cool was that? so adore him :) and he was on the back wall the whole time, which was awesome.

i can't remember now all the people i really liked, but i do remember a couple. the very first girl that go thru who was 16 and sang hallelujah. the 70's dude was awesome! one dude who was blonde(?) and wore a knit cap and had been harmonizing in the waiting room. who else, who else. i can't remember now.

anyhow. so very happy for this season. i really hope it's a good one :)


EDIT: omg, how great was it not having to listen to paula? SO GREAT! and i was surprised to find that i actually liked victoria beckham. who knew?

i really like it for the most part. my favorites so far are 'before we come undone' and 'the truth' (which actually made me cry - awesome lyrics).

will definitely buy the album when it comes out next tuesday.

i don't find him particularly attractive, but holy shit. those photos are fucking hot.

watched the first three eps of the office. when did they decide to make jim a fucking idiot too? brilliant move. *shakes head*

one of the last eps of better off ted i saw had linda mention becoming the old lady with all the cats that eat her dead body. that was AWESOME. it redeemed the fact that that story/urban legend/myth actually does exist, so when i talk about it and people look at me like i'm crazy... well, okay, so i AM crazy, but STILL! it does exist :)

so ellen is going to be on idol. *sad face* i love ellen. love and adore her! i really really do. but i do NOT want her on idol. i just know that having her on idol will make me hate her. i just know it. and i don't want to hate her. i love her! ugh. not looking forward to this at all.

am watching sytycd, but still extremely annoyed that they are doing this fall season thing. and RIGHT after the last season. bugs me.

gareth david-lloyd is playing watson in a straight to dvd sherlock holmes movie. yay for him, cuz ya know, paid acting job. but based on the pics, i question the quality of this venture. it could be awesome. it could be complete crap. it could be BOTH. regardless, i care not for gdl's tummy roll. i've said it a million times, but boy really needs to start taking care of himself. the lifestyle he (supposedly) leads is going to destroy his body. he looks way older than he actually is, and dude isn't even 30 yet. but hey, to each his own, right? and i suppose if he's happy, then who am i to say. just don't kill yourself too readily, okay?

i read an awesome hp fanfic today. i feel kind of bad, because i haven't read any in a REALLY long time, and this reminded me how much i LOVE these boys. it was by one of my favorite authors and her ron is just so absolutely perfect. so i ended up reading a bunch of others as well and i smiled SO MUCH. they just make me so happy :)

then i read another (yes, another) au ai fic tonight. it was also made of awesome. and so funny too! i feel kind of creepy reading rpf, but these two ARE au's, and a good story is a good story, right? and, again, they just leave me feeling extremely happy! so i shouldn't feel bad.

cuz i'm tired of feeling bad. and torchwood just breaks my heart. seriously, the contrast in emotional response between the hp and tw fic i read is ridiculous. and i deserve some fucking happiness.

speaking of torchwood... it is ianto jones' birthday today. and i firmly believe he is alive and well and celebrating spectacularly.

i am so fucking tired of all this talk about adam lambert and the "speculation" about his sexuality. dude is clearly gay and has been extremely open about it. seriously, google him and look at the pictures. check out his personal pages on myspace and the like. he has said in interviews "my closet is wide open" and "the elephant in the room is very pink". just because he hasn't publicly said "i'm gay", people are all pissed and bitchy and judgmental and rude and just general assholes. leave the guy alone. he is not hiding anything.

and if it IS so fucking important, then what about the other contestants? why aren't they being hounded about whether or not they are straight or gay? yes, kris may have a wife, but i never once heard him utter the words "i'm straight." and jorge, he looked as if he might be gay, where are the attacks on him? allison is still so young, maybe this whole sexuality thing is difficult and confusing for her. maybe we should be forcing her into deciding WHO and WHAT she is, because damnit we have to know right now! should it be fucking mandatory now for all people to announce their sexuality to the general public?

why is it so important to YOU that another human being labels himself so that YOU feel more comfortable. it is a personal and private matter and is none of your fucking business!

it absolutely infuriates me.
